When the Day is Done Tim Mueller 2014
Go HERE to watch the video, incuding live footage recorded at the WOW Hall.

Pulling in at Lover’s Lane, at the edge of town
Turning off the radio, news just gets me down
At the setting of the sun. When the day is done
Yellow is the honey bee, yellow is the corn
Ice and water shake their heads, “Oh what have they done?”
At the setting of the sun. When the day is done
Is it really me, am I the one to blame
Because I looked the other way. Oh, I don’t wanna say
Summer time, winter time, every time it seems
Chaos knockin' at the door, can you hear the screams?
At the setting of the sun. When the day is done
Is it really me, am I the one to blame
Because I looked the other way. Oh, I don’t wanna say
Lose me in your eyes. Where I can’t be found
Where your love surrounds...
We try our best (our very best) we do the best we can
Get up in the morning, do it all again
At the setting of the sun. When the day is done
Dream the North will love the South and South love in return
East embraces West just like your loving arms
At the setting of the sun. When the day is done
Is it really me, am I the one to blame
Because I looked the other way. Oh, I don’t wanna say

The Story:

You see it, everyday, on your Facebook, Twitter, TV, phone, iPad, laptop. Your newsfeed won't let you rest. All the conflict, poverty, suffering, pain, want... How to not feel it? How to not want to help, but there is so, so much help and healing needed.

I turn to the comfort of my love, my wife, my family, my community. I turn to them for courage and strength. Because sometimes I just need relief.

The relief of strong arms around me, of warm breath in my ear, of lips that drown me, surround me. Of the relaxed calmness that only my love can provide, the safety, the separation from all the need in the world.

I hope with all I have that people and nations find peace, that we all learn to see the human in the person across the fence, and honor it.

Without that, the weight of it all falls on my shoulders and I cry in the dark, "Am I the one to blame?

This song was recorded live at the historic WOW Hall in Eugene, Oregon in early 2016. We opened for James McCartney, the son of Paul and Linda, as he toured to support his newest project. The added video footage was predominately filmed near Yachats on the Oregon coast. What a beautiful place to be. The car in the beginning is a 1962 Volvo, born the same year TR Kelley, our fabulous bass player. That scene was filmed along the Siuslaw River.
