Nel passed away from the cancer on June 1, 2023. We are all devastated. Her singing, mbira playing, and percussion sounds are such an important part of our sound, of our heart...
To honor her, STEEL WOOL Band will be perfoming on the Community Village Stage at the Oregon Country Fair at 4:00 July 7. We will conclude our set with a tribute to Nel as we perform "You're My Flower" with the help of Wanda Walker and Suma Elan playing Nel's mbira parts. We hope you can be there to share in this event, but if not we hope to create a video there to share will all of you. It will be posted here soon after.
We still have CD's, streaming music and videos, and fun news and info just a click away at our "Social" (New Stuff every now and then), "Music" and "Video" pages. New music may still be recorded...new songs are waitin. Keep in touch!
